Treasure RPG

Colours

Mixing and matching colours to get combinations that work well usually involves a certain amount of trial and error. Your monitor can only give a rough guide to printed colours and different printers give slightly different results. When printing it is important to test all the colours in your palette by printing them on a test page. This lets you check the colours and how they look next to each other.

Colour Calibration

The image shown below can be used as a rough colour calibration test for your monitor and your browser. On our screens the colour range displays the cobra with a mid to deep red tongue and a mid to deep green skin. A basic test like this is no replacement for a Colour Management System, but is sufficient to see when an uncalibrated LCD monitor is too bright.

ColourED Cards PalettE

Our first set of multi-coloured PDF images form the Treasure Graphics Pack (Colours). The images use the palette shown below. The palette is linked to 'natural' materials, which helps to avoid colour clashes. The colours shown are matched to the exact values within our colour PDF files. PDFs are the best starting point for colour images, as they preserve the images' colour data. We are working on a 'clean' colour conversion for SVG images.

Anyone working with Inkscape can use the following palette file to match to our colours. Unzip the file and search your hard disc for the filetype *.gpl to find the correct Inkscape Folder to copy the palette into:
