Treasure, the Treasure Graphics Pack/s and the Treasure Quick Start Kit are available from here and our Home page.
You can click the link shown to go directly to an online copy of Treasure. However, it's a good idea to DOWNLOAD THE ZIPPED COPY FROM THIS PAGE, because it creates a complete local version on your hard disc.
To change the Live version to a fully local copy you need to download the SVG charts to the same folder as treasure.htm, then edit the links from Treasure to the charts.

Both copies are being developed in parallel to include Javascript, further images and various other media when time and bandwidth allow. Please check at the Updates page to see if we have made changes since your last visit.
While it is an advantage to be able to update Treasure frequently, this presents a bit of a problem when it comes to updating players' personal, embedded content. For now, copying and pasting embedded html into new versions offers the simplest approach.
We are looking at ways of making it easier to transfer personal content but delaying updates between major version changes can help. For example, the number of changes between Version 1.0 and Version 1.03 are minimal; while the changes between Version 1.0 and Version 1.5 might justify transferring your content.
Treasure looks at its best with two of Microsoft's FREE Vista Fonts installed. We are using these fonts because they display well both on screen and in print. The benefits of the fonts are discussed here and the fonts are available from here.
There are a number of open source software applications that are likely to be useful to players:
Treasure's Graphics Pack stores files as Scalable Vector Graphics, (SVG), because vector graphics are compact and can be resized without any loss of image quality. This makes our files ideally suited for putting or pulling together your own character designs, packs of cards and dungeon layouts. SVG files (.svg) can be edited in software including CorelDraw and Adobe Illustrator but these packages are expensive. Inkscape offers a free alternative that uses SVG as its native format.
OpenOffice provides a free alternative to expensive office suites such as Microsoft Office. Apart from providing the usual applications, OpenOffice also allows saving and printing to PDF files. It is possible to import SVG files into OpenOffice but full support for this feature is currently work in progress. At present it is possible to import SVG files into OpenOffice by installing a filter and ensuring that your system's Java is up-to-date.
Making your own web pages without any complications calls for a WYSIWYG web editor. Nvu is free, open source software that allows anyone to edit web pages with ease. Just remember to set up the correct >Tools >Preferences to stick to the correct document type, (xHTML 1.1 Transitional) and, most importantly, to prevent Nvu from automatically altering your code when you save or exit.
