The
icons provided in the Graphics Pack are designed to give a clear
representation of each image. This makes it easy to identify the icons,
but does leave them looking a bit too uniform and standardised.
It's
very easy to style sets of the images using Photoshop filters in
Photoshop, GIMP and a variety of other painting software. Just load a
PDF version of the images and apply a filter. Alternatively, save a PNG
file out of Inkscape, CorelDraw or Illustrator and style completed
designs at a single click.
There's
an
almost endless range of filtering options to choose from. However, in
most cases players are looking to distress the images and apply more
varied lines weights. There are more than enough filters capable of
adding such effects, but it takes a certain amount of experimentation
to apply the filters without blurring the gaps between lines. Using
subtle effects and/ or large versions of the images allows filters to
be applied to complete PDF sets
The
following filter settings provide very quick ways of varying and
distressing Treasure's images, without going too far. All painting
software is not equal, but there are plenty of filter effects available
for free on the Net. Links to a few good options appear at the bottom
of the page, but there are lots more.
