To make it easy for anyone to play using Treasure's graphic options it was important to ensure that all the game's icons are easy to sketch or draw. With that in mind the icons were based around very simple 'primitives', made up of a small number of simple shapes. This allows players who are are not used to sketching or drawing to copy most of the icons used by/ for adventurers with a few basic pen or pencil lines. It doesn't take much time to become more practiced at sketching, so the slightly more elaborate primitives used as adventurers become more experienced simply build on what has gone before.

These three primitives, a halo, a cross and a bone, respectively, represent protective, healing and animate skills within Treasure.
Styling the primitives through sketching or computer software 'fills out' the images, and opens up the use of a vast range of display styles or options. It is helpful to consider the scale or scales you may wish to use when starting to style images, as some icon styles can become harder to display clearly at smaller sizes.

The halo icon, which usually represents a Halo spell, is shown as a primitive and in two styled versions.

The halo can also be shown in a more elaborate style when used as a centrepiece within a design.

Talisman: styling individual images can involve using quite elaborate styling and plenty of colour. This does call for some consideration of how an image will fit into an overall design.
Putting together your own designs, trying different styles and adapting ready-made designs are all part of the choices available to players within Treasure. The range of design options is too broad to display here, (without using more bandwidth), but we have put several designs on the site, including the Merovingian Crown template on the Designs page and the Dead Man's Hand design at the bottom of the Graphic RPGs page. You may need to adjust your screen size slightly to view the straightforward Wheel design shown below. Printing or sticking such images onto playing cards or printer card makes for an even more flexible design.

Wheel: the skills shown within the Wheel design are a mixture of crafts, spells and honours. The space in the centre of the circle and the spacing between the icons is ideal for taking notes or adding markings.
